The recent three part series in the Minneapolis Star clearly shows that the DNR is broken and that Commissioner Mark Holsten is the reason. Holsten has failed both the people of Minnesota the agency he leads. The policies he is pushing and defending, turning the care of our states fields, forests and wetlands over to the ATV industry, are impossible to understand and certainly indefensible for an agency that is supposed to protect the state's resources, not facilitate their destruction. Clearly Holsten is in the pocket of the ATV clubs and manufacturers, if not actually on their payroll. They way he is pandering to them smacks of a corrupt leadership at the DNR.
Virtually every DNR employee I have ever dealt with has been a staunch defender of our states public lands; everyone but Holsten. He has clearly sold the state the DNR's soul to the ATV despoilers.
Holsten must go! Now!
